[dropcap]Happy[/dropcap] Easter everyone! 🐰 Hope you’re all having a wonderful Easter Sunday and enjoying your Easter long weekend. It’s been great for us to sit back/relax and reflect/celebrate together. The weather’s been excellent over here – sunny and warm during the day – perfect for mild celebration. We’ve been enjoying it mainly indoors with some light reading, work and movies. On Good Friday, I cooked the red fin fish that mum gave us and turned it into a modern Lao fish soup – complete with padaek and fish sauce, tomatoes, leafy greens/herbs and sliced nori sheets as garnish. It turned out very tasty – we enjoyed it with toasts. I also dyed some eggs red with dye given to my partner last year. The dye is outrageously intense/concentrated and the eggs turned out beautiful. We’ve enjoyed hot crossed buns from the local bakery and made short work of them. We replenished them today – they just taste so good grilled with morning coffee.
Also on Friday, my partner wanted to download and watch The Last Temptation of Christ (1988), but for some reason the internet/download was so slow on the day. It didn’t finish downloading until Saturday afternoon! We found a dvd of Gaslight (1944) hiding somewhere in the pile and watched it on Friday night instead – it’s a great/classic b&w movie that we recommend. We finally watched The Last Temptation of Christ on Saturday night – it was well worth the wait. It’s an epic/artistic and informative/controversial depiction/story – another great/classic movie that we enjoyed very much and recommend. Have you watched a good movie lately? Do you like old/classic movies? Earlier in the week, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to write about for today’s post but it made sense to write about Easter. My partner suggested that I arrange/compose an Easter special still-life and a collection of objects/ideas came to mind. The end result is a slight mishmash/ensemble of favourite Easter objects. I hope you like it. Have a happy and safe week all! smile

Thanks for sharing your beautiful Easter with us Ngeun! Sounds like you are having a very well balanced and relaxed weekend, full of nourishment, fun and rest. The flowers must have been an Easter gift from the universe to your partner I would say. Very rare to find this late into April! He must have been very relieved. They complete a wonderful light and inspired composition glowing with love and goodwill to all. It’s important to remember the real meaning of Easter and you have captured this perfectly.
I hope you are now enjoying the hot cross buns, chocolates and sugar egg! By the way, we are watching a classic movie at the moment called “Houseboat” with Sophia Loren and Cary Grant. Have seen The Last Temptation of Christ… simply brilliant and one of our favourites.
Happy Easter to you Ngeun!!
Love always.

Thanks Cynthia and Pet. Yes, Easter’s a good time for reflection and gratitude. The Formosa lily was a blessing indeed and it does add freshness and luminosity to the picture. Looking forward to watching Houseboat. The Last Temptation of Christ was fantastic! Much love to you. <3

Happy Easter to you two! I love the still left – and the red dye is so wonderfully intense… we will be traveling today, following a family wedding so Easter will be in the sky!

Thanks David, Happy Easter to you two too. The red dye is strong and stains everything easily. Enjoy your Easter celebrations and safe travels. :)
