A little dramatic I know. But it is the end of the year. That is all. And next year is a new chapter. A new beginning. A new leaf. Like everything – it just goes round and round. Haha. It revolves and evolves. History does repeat itself. But with new nuances. Take the time to observe. And smell the flowers. And see and feel beyond the visible and physical. And let’s ascend and move up and forward. Let’s progress, better ourselves, learn to forgive and share more. There’s always more.
I read somewhere that at this moment in life, it’s the oldest we’ve ever been and it’s the youngest we’ll ever be again. (The original quote is by Eleanor Roosevelt – ‘Today is the oldest you’ve ever been, and the youngest you’ll ever be again.’) So let’s use our life experiences and wisdom thus far and embrace the magic of life to find the peace, love and happiness that we truly want. Now is the golden moment. And we can make it happen. It is not too late. Just do it.
This year has been eventful and bittersweet. With sadness and deaths – the passing of Swan our dog and my partner’s uncle. But there’s also been happiness including seeing our parents and family and catching up with dear close friends, learning more and making plans for the future and working towards achieving our dreams together. And of course, marriage equality is now law in Australia. Another gold star for our country. And another reason to be thankful and grateful. So it hasn’t all been sad and bad. That is life folks.
And on that note – I’m off to have a drink and a nibble. I wish you a safe and happy new year. And thank you for reading and your support. I truly appreciate it. See you on the other side. 2018 that is. But before I go, I want to share this lovely quote (that I found online – no idea who it’s by) with you. Au revoir. smile
‘Always pray to have eyes that see the best in people, a heart that forgives the worst, a mind that forgets the bad, and a soul that never loses faith in God.’
David
What a beautiful quote to begin my year, Ngeun. Thank you! I have been trying so hard to relax and rush less, see more, feel more good and less anxiety/anger, though it’s hard when you see your country being taken over by hatred… and that makes my goals all the more crucial. But even all the bad is balanced out by good, like marriage equality in Australia! Bravo! Happy New Year to you both! Hugs from afar, David

Thanks very much for all of your comments and support thus far David. I truly appreciate it. I hope that 2018 brings all of us more peace, love and happiness than before. Happy new year to you both and hugs and best wishes from this side of the planet.

Also, I’d like to add (for the record) that the quote is not my own – I found it online.
